A DIY Facial Serum with dōTERRA’s Blue Tansy oil makes for a natural alternative to skin products. Blue Tansy is originally a wild-harvested Mediterranean plant and mainly comes from Morocco. The flower is actually yellow in color, not blue like the oil. Blue Tansy oil is in a wide variety of products, ranging from blemish creams to anti-aging solutions. These days the market is inundated with skin products so how do you know which ones are best for your skin? People like me tend to look at natural options and dōTERRA definitely has a lot to offer! ~ The camphor concentration in blue tansy oil has been shown to help support damaged skin. You can place 1 to 2 drops of blue tansy oil in your moisturizer, creams or body lotion to help boost the product’s skin-benefitting effects. Or, add a few drops to a carrier oil like coconut or jojoba oil before applying it to your skin. dōTERRA has several skin care options, including our Yarrow/Pom Nutritive Duo Serum which people love using on their faces for a revitalizing, protective application.
Best way to use Blue Tansy oil
One of the best ways to use Blue Tansy is on your skin. Most people prefer to blend it with a carrier oil, one of our facial creams or serums, or another essential oil that is also good for the skin. You can add a drop of Blue Tansy oil to one to two ounces of your favorite moisturizer and apply topically to help reduce the appearance of blemishes or to soothe skin irritation.
These oil options could include:
- Lavender
- Immortelle blend
- Helichrysum
- Tea Tree
- Manuka
- Copaiba
- Frankincense
- Sandalwood
- Myrrh
- Rose
- and so many more.

Where to apply the Blue Tansy Facial Serum
Last night, I chose to mix our Hydrating Cream; one dollop the size of a large pea, and one drop of the newly made facial serum together and I applied it all over my face, neck and chest area. For about 30 minutes my skin absorbed this mixture totally. Many people love the way these serums support their skin and many like to use them on their neck and chest areas, and also trouble spots like the elbows, ankles, and knees. You can basically use them anywhere that you might want some extra TLC!
