I have several friends who do those 3 day breast cancer walks and the only complaint I have ever heard back from any of them was about their sore feet. I guess it is a pretty uplifting, unforgettable experience to do this event so if sore feet are the only downfall I can see why so many people do it every year. Anyway, this year one of the women who did the walk took Peppermint oil with her. She said she rubbed it on her feet before and after each days walk. It helped her feet stay fairly cool during the event but the real testimonial was how her feet felt after she was done walking. She kept rubbing the Peppermint oil in to the bottoms of each foot and it gave her an all over cooling sensation. Wow…how great is that? And I believe Eucalyptus oil would work as well because it is also a cooling oil. The next time I go climb a mountain I am going to try this because I know my feet are pretty sore after. I will experiment with both these oils and I will let you know what I think! Another thing that is great about having the Peppermint oil on hand is putting some in your water bottle and sipping on it as you go. Peppermint oil in water will keep your breath fresh and give you an uplifted feeling. It also energizes the body. So pass this tip to any walkers you know and let me know how it works for them. Without these tips coming in I wouldn’t have so much to write about, so thank you!
Have a great day! Jana
P.S….it’s January 8th and I hiked up Cowles mountain today after rubbing Peppermint oil all over my feet. After the hike I took a shower and applied more oil to my feet. No soreness, no discomfort and no blisters!* It works!! : )
