This is a topic I don’t believe I’ve ever talked about but today is the perfect day to share. A few days ago I was hiking up my mountain and when I got to the top there was a man up there who was bald and was clearly showing the signs of too much sun. He didn’t appear to have a hat with him so I immediately thought, ‘ what a bummer that he has to hike all the way back down with no shelter for his head,’ Unfortunately, I didn’t have the soothing oil samples I would have given him so I just finished my trek and came home. It made me think though, and that’s why I wanted to focus on this today. ~ People who are bald need sunscreen daily. Unless they wear a hat or cap all day their head is going to get a lot of sun. Many people don’t like to put a greasy sunscreen on their head, or they just forget about it altogether. Luckily, I have some natural ways for people to get the sunscreening they need without the greasy residue. Try mixing a couple drops of doTERRA’s Frankincense and Helichrysum essential oils with a few drops of our Fractionated Coconut oil and applying it all over the head and neck. You can also use Sandalwood oil in this same way. This will support your skin in the sun and even on a hazy day when the rays can still break through and cause havoc. And after sun exposure, try supporting your skin with a combo of Lavender and Geranium oils, or Lavender and Peppermint when you need some cooling relief. Whenever I get too much sun I always go to the Lavender and Peppermint because it relieves my skin and also calms any discomfort I might be experiencing. Just having these oils on hand is so comforting, it’s nice to know I’m covered for anything that comes my way!
Have a great day! Jana
