There are a few of doTERRA’s essential oils that can help people to regain or increase their sense of smell and Basil is one of them. A couple of years ago a story was going around our doTERRA community about a woman who was able to help herself regain her sense of smell after she had been under the weather. Her respiratory system was knocked down and she wasn’t able to catch the scent of almost anything. Fortunately, she took matters into her own hands and did some research regarding natural herbs and pure essential oils. Her search took her back to medicinal practices from hundreds of years ago and she became focused on Basil essential oil. Her research told her that if she would just apply a tiny bit of the oil right under her nose, and believe it or not, over each of her toes, this should slowly start to help her regain her sense of smell. Long story short, it did help and she immediately started to share her story over the doTERRA networks. After this story went viral, other people started sharing their own experiences with loss of sense of smell and some of them were using different oils. Some of the other essential oils that can help with this target are: Peppermint, Arborvitae, and Helichrysum, all to be used topically under the nose and over all the toes, and Sandalwood oil to be applied topically under both nostrils. ~ Because of compliance issues I am limited in how I can talk about things on this blog but if you contact me directly we can have a conversation about it. And if you have any of your own stories to share, please let me know… I love learning new things, it never gets old!
Have a great day! Jana
