These two essential oils were the topic of a conversation that I had with a couple of doTERRA users the other day. People who love the outdoors are usually drawn to the scent of Cedarwood and Sandalwood because they both smell like the outdoors. Fresh and smooth and woody, these oils can bring the outside inside when you diffuse them in the house. They both have benefits for emotional balance, the respiratory system, some skin targets, and so much more. The one topic I wanted to touch on today was how both of these oils can help to support your throat and voice box when you’ve over-used your voice by speaking for too long, singing, yelling, or when the seasonal bugs are going around. Cedarwood and Sandalwood oils, when rubbed on the neck, can help to ease inflammation that sometimes occurs in the throat. A few years ago I talked about a friend of mine who is a high school teacher. She had overused her voice and one day she woke up and she could hardly speak. She came over to my house to borrow my Sandalwood oil because she had read in her oil bible that this oil could help with this issue. And sure enough, within ten minutes of her rubbing the oil all over her neck, she could feel the inflammation lessening. ~ Cedarwood oil is super gentle and has calming abilities as well, especially with children. I have seen upset babies totally calm down when Cedarwood oil is diffused in the house. Some moms have even used this oil for when their childrens teeth are first coming in and they feel that nagging discomfort. By rubbing the oil right on the gums, this helps to soothe the child and calm them down. The taste isn’t terrible so most kids don’t mind it. ~ If you have any questions, about anything, please feel free to contact me.
Have a great day! Jana
