The other day I was talking to a friend who spends some time on the east coast for work and she was telling me how cold the last month and a half have been. She was in Boston and then the New York area and she said she actually slept with gloves on her hands because her hands were just so cold. Being from California it’s a little hard to relate, but I have been cold before so I felt for her. Another thing the conversation made me think about was a blog I wrote a few years ago about doTERRA’s essential oils and which ones could help to warm you up and also soothe dry skin which seems to be an issue for almost everyone in the winter months. ~ We have a very moisturizing Hand and Body Lotion that comes unscented so you can add in any oil you choose. The oils that can help ease dry and chapped skin are Helichrysum, Myrrh, Lavender, Petitgrain, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Roman Chamomile, and our Immortelle anti-aging blend. When you add 1 to 2 drops of any of these oils into a dollop of the cream and massage it into your skin, you will feel a warming sensation and your skin will feel softer and smoother afterwards. And this practice can be used on any area of skin that is feeling cold and dry, not just your hands. ~ One of my readers told me how she controls her dry hands in the winter by using our lotion and oils and then sleeping with tube socks, or crew socks, over her hands while she slept. In the morning she had relieved the issue and all the negative things disappeared. For more information on this simply type in DRY SKIN, or CHAPPED SKIN, in the Search window at the top of this page!
Have a great day! Jana
