Diffusing essential oils, to be clear. I wanted to talk about this because I recently received a bunch of incense sticks from a friend. She also gave me a narrow, wooden burning holder to use so it would be easy to burn in any room I wanted. I was excited to try it because I’m all about scenting the air and I diffuse our oils all the time, I figured this would be an additional thing I could do to freshen my home. Well, it didn’t quite work the way I thought and I’m here to share the experience. First of all, the sticks of incense I received burnt up in about 5 minutes, not 30 minutes like it says on the box. Also, the ashes are so light weight that they spread all over the place making the wooden base useless. Soooo, that was my experience, but let’s go a little deeper. ~ I got online to check out what incense was exactly and I was shocked to see that the ingredients were from bark, leaves, and other parts from plants, yet the affects to the respiratory system could be harmful for some people and pets. I tried to research this deeper but I ran into dead ends which led me to believe that the coating over the incense sticks themselves might be the issue. Usually, plant parts aren’t toxic as we all know. So, let’s talk about doTERRA’s essential oils… when you diffuse our pure oils you are spreading only natural goodness through the air. You may want to consider which oils you are diffusing if you have sensitive pets, like birds, or if anyone in the family has any sensitivity to certain scents. For the most part though, you can safely diffuse our oils and enjoy the purifying and calming support they spread. I know my choice will be to diffuse my oils from here on out because I already have such a great track record with them!
Have a great day! Jana
