Who has a hard time waking up in the morning? I have heard from so many people over the years who struggle to get out of bed at the sound of the alarm. They press the snooze button numerous times, hoping to get just a few more minutes of rest. We all know that this is not helping us at all… our bodies need a certain amount of sustained sleep, yet we hope that just 2 more minutes will help us to become fully awake. Personally, I am not a morning person. I am much more active and ‘alive’ after the 10am bell rings. I have found that diffusing certain essential oils has helped me when I’ve needed it though, and a few of my readers have sent in their own suggestions as well. So, let’s start with the number one oil that people use to wake themselves up… Peppermint. Yup, if you’ve smelled this oil you know that it is impossible to not feel energized in the most natural way. No jitters or anxiousness, just a pure bolt of energy that wakes you up and gets your mornings off to a great start. You can diffuse it, you can put a drop on a cotton ball and carry it around with you, inhaling the scent as needed, or you can apply it topically to your neck, wrists, and shoulders so you get the benefits of the scent as you move throughout the day. ~ The other doTERRA oils that can stimulate your senses in a positive ‘wakeful’ way are: Spikenard, Petitgrain, Wild Orange, the Breathe blend, Rosemary, Wintergreen, our Elevation blend, Eucalyptus, Cassia, and most of the citrus oils. When you just inhale any of these oils right from the bottle, the last thing they will make you think of is crawling back into bed!
