There is so much going on in the world right now and much of it is bringing feelings of negativity. So much stress and worry, it’s too much to take for many. Taking care of yourself needs to be a priority so let’s look at this in detail. ~ I wanted to talk about some of the ways that you can reduce stress naturally. I know it sounds crazy, but I can share some personal ways that I have pretty much eliminated this from my life. It’s taken some time, but the end result is worth sharing. And when you take care of yourself, everything else can more easily fall into place. When you’re happy and healthy, everything else becomes more manageable.
Times Are Tough
I hate talking about negative things but I think we are all aware of what’s happening around us. Late last year I had a health scare and my doctor made sure to lecture me about it. It could have ended differently but thankfully I was able to get help quickly. After everything played out my doc’s advice to me was to ‘ manage yourself and your life better. Manage your stress or it can ground you.’ I took it to heart and started to focus on how I could actually accomplish this. For me it turned into a major transformation so let’s cover some of the changes here.
- I started to walk away from people who were energy vampires.
- I concentrated on my life, not others.
- The way I ate changed.
- Exercise became a priority.
- I weeded out my crap. ( for me it was hanging onto things that didn’t matter anymore )
- I became more involved in my work, which I love.
- Volunteering was helpful too.
- Realizing when I was drifting into negativity had me snapping back quickly.
- I became so much more aware of everything.
If you were to write your own list of things you wanted to change, it would probably be much different. The point is, take notice of what’s going on and react to it in a more positive way. My reactions now are so much healthier because I can easily just dismiss things that don’t matter. If someone disagrees with me, that’s OK. I probably don’t agree with their opinions either. And the healthiest thing that has happened is I no longer hold onto anger. And this was HUGE for me! What a gift it’s been…
You are the most important person in your life. That may be hard to swallow for many, but I believe it’s true. If you don’t take care of yourself life will not be the amazing ride it should be.
