A few weeks ago I was reading a post from a gal who is in the alcohol free social media site I belong to and something she said just jarred me. This was a lady who had successfully stayed away from drinking alcohol for about 7 months but because of the vivid, uncomfortable dreams she was experiencing, and not getting the rest she wanted, she was thinking about drinking again. She said when she was drinking alcohol she never had dreams, she just basically blacked out. This made me sad because I know how important it is to stay on course when you are trying to stay healthy. And I know there are other ways to support sleep patterns without turning to alcohol. After sending her a DM I decided to highlight the topic of sleep on here again because it seems to be something of interest to many. ~ Essential oils can be so helpful if you are looking for a natural way to relax and calm yourself after a busy day. You can apply certain oils to your skin, specifically over pulse points and over the heart area, like Lavender, our Serenity blend, Jasmine, Roman Chamomile, the Balance blend, our Peace blend, Marjoram, Patchouli, and the Adaptiv blend. doTERRA has a lot of choices and sometimes just smelling a few oils that you personally like and feel comforted by can be the right choice for yourself. I really like Wild Orange and when I diffuse it I always feel more relaxed. And then there’s Clary Sage which is not everyone’s favorite but it soothes my mind and body like almost nothing else. ~ Diffusing these oils can be really beneficial as well, but if you don’t have a diffuser yet you can just put a drop or two of any oil on a cotton ball and place close to you while relaxing.
