The past couple of years have been difficult on the majority of people across the world. Today let’s talk about some important reminders that I have needed to look back on myself over the months. Some days it’s hard to remember to take ‘me time’ as we all know. The other day I was walking back to my car after a beach run and I met an older woman. She was moving along the sidewalk slowly using a walker. I noticed that she was approaching a cross street so I asked if she needed help. She shook her head and said she wasn’t going to cross, she was just going around the block. She told me that as hard as it was she had to get out every day to keep her energy up. This lady looked to be in her nineties and she impressed me. She clearly ‘got it’.
What Is Important?
There are so many ways that we can support our mental and physical health, even in hard times. As you know, I believe that pure essential oils can be a beneficial tool for everyone. Along with the oils though come some easy routines that you can dive into easily. Some of the most important things can be on the list below:
- Immune Support
- Physical Activity
- Good Nutrition
- Weight Management
- Sleep Support
- Down Time/Relaxing
- Mental Health Awareness
- Substance Intake/Abuse
- Aging Successfully
As you look at this list you may feel guilty, or sad. Maybe you haven’t focused on some of these things and you should. I know I could use more sleep, and my nutrition focus could be better. I tend to eat when I’m starving so I should be planning meals out better. Everything can be fixed, so that’s the good news!
There are always excuses as to why we don’t do certain things. The important thing is to recognize the changes we need to make and do them. If you need more exercise, plan out a course of action. If you want to lose weight, weed out your refrigerator and go to the store and buy new food. And if you need a mental boost, go outside and walk. Breathe deep and notice little things around you. This has always been my number 1, go-to problem solver. But we’re all different so figure out your own personal needs and start your progress today.
