Today I’m going to talk about a new product that I just got for my home. It’s the Instant Pot and this thing is awesome! Before I bought it I did a ton of research on it because it has 7 uses and I was feeling a little overwhelmed. I watched some YouTube videos too which was really helpful because by the time I got the appliance I had a pretty good idea how to use it properly. ~ The first recipe I made was a pot roast and man, it was a winner. The gravy was so good I could have just eaten it like a soup, plus the vegetables I added in were cooked to perfection. The whole meal only took about 20 minutes to prep, and then only 50 minutes to cook using the pressure cooker feature. In a slow cooker this would have taken 6 to 8 hours for sure. ~ In place of some of the dried herbs I used a few of my essential oils that I always have on hand. I replaced the dried rosemary, the oregano, and the thyme with doTERRA oils by putting a wood toothpick into each bottle allowing the oils to soak into the wood. Then I just stirred the sauce with the toothpick to release the concentrated flavors of the oils into the dish. You don’t need to use very much of the oil in cooking so I advise this method. The end result was delicious and I can’t wait to make this recipe again and again, it was a real hit with everyone. ~ For more information on this cool cooker, go to www.InstantPot.com and a ton of info will come up. Be sure to watch some of the videos because they will help you feel at ease about this product. And if you’d like more info about which oils you can safely use in cooking, contact me directly!
Have a great day! Jana
