The other morning I took advantage of the overcast skies and went hiking so I could get my cardio in early. The trail I hike is semi-wide and it’s never busy with a lot of hikers. As I came hauling down on my descent, looking at the ground right below my feet so I wouldn’t trip on any of the rocks, my eye caught something ahead and my body reacted without me even being aware of it. Dead ahead, right THERE, was a 5 foot rattlesnake crossing the trail. As I processed what I was seeing my brain was already taking over and it had me leaping over this giant, scary, SNAKE! Omg, the fear inside of me when I landed had me running to get out of it’s strike zone, if that’s what you call it. My heart was beating harder than it ever has, I’m sure of it. Anyway, I survived and actually went back up so I could get a few pictures of it, staying far away from it though. ~ It’s that time of the year here in Cali and I need to be more aware of what the heck I’m doing and where. This was totally my fault because I never look for snakes, I just assume they would bypass the trails where humans are. But this huge beauty taught me a good lesson. ~ When I got home I was still a bit shook up so I took a shower and then applied my go-to oil, Clary Sage, all over my body. Just breathing this oil in calms me down immediately and I always have it close by. doTERRA has a lot of oils to help soothe and calm the nerves, including Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Rose, Neroli, Siberian Fir, Whisper blend, and Spikenard, just to name a few. We’ve got you covered when you need some calming help!
Have an observant day! Jana
