A friend of mine sent me a text recently asking which essential oils might help soothe and calm an ingrown hair follicle on her arm. I wrote her back letting her know that Melaleuca, Roman Chamomile, Lemongrass, or Lavender could help with this just by applying the oils right on the target. The oils work fast to take care of the discomfort, itching, and discoloration, plus they work quickly in the most natural way possible. This got me thinking about a lot of the other skin targets that we deal with in our day to day lives so let’s do a little recap on some of these and the oils that can help to benefit the skin. ~ If you find yourself over-sunned at any time, reach for our Helichrysum oil and mix even amounts with our fractionated coconut oil to make a soothing mixture that can soothe the skin quickly. If you don’t have Helichrysum oil, use Lavender, Melaleuca, or Geranium oils in it’s place. These oils also work well for an itch, but the best remedy for that issue is to mix Peppermint and Lavender oils together and apply right on the affected area. The itch will be soothed and your skin will feel cooled down immediately. ~ If you are trying to tame a breakout on your skin try using the Melaleuca oil, not diluted, right on the area. Some people swear by the Lavender oil, and I also know people who use Frankincense oil as well. ( Frankincense oil is one of those oils that works well for almost anything so I always tell people to get that oil in their home when they can ) ~ And if you have any of those bumpy, reddish patches on your skin, try using the Geranium oil right on the area affected. ~ For more skin info, simply type in SKIN in the Search window on this page and everything I’ve written about it will pop up!
Have a great day! Jana
