Have you ever had a conversation with someone who feels differently about a topic than you do and they feel passionately about swaying you over to ‘their side’? This happens to me a lot, especially when I meet someone who uses a different brand of essential oils than I do. If this person has been using a certain brand for awhile they are usually pretty loyal to that brand just as I am to doTERRA. Just recently I got into one of these conversations and I wanted to share it on here today. ~ A few weeks ago I received an email from a reader, Janice, who wanted to tell me that she believed that if I looked into a brand of essential oils that was carried in health food stores that I might find it a better fit because of cost and quality. When I told her I was familiar with her named brand but was totally satisfied with doTERRA she started to raise her voice and really started pounding in what she believed to be truths. She started to talk louder and louder as she realized that she wasn’t going to sway me over to her line of thinking. So, here’s the thing… why do some people think that they can persuade you by raising their voices. It never makes me feel like they know more than I do, or that their product actually is as awesome as they claim. This behavior makes a person feel uncomfortable and has them looking for a way out. And that makes the messenger look questionable and maybe a little crazy. And that’s one reason that quiet conversation works so much better when you are talking with others. So much more information can be shared when details and points can be talked about calmly. I will always respect a persons perspective and experiences when sharing doTERRA, and I promise never to yell at you, ever!
Have a great day! Jana
