Which essential oils do you reach for when you feel like you’re dying? This is a question I asked myself the other day because I was having such anxious feelings. I was sure my heart was having spasms because I was jittery and nervous and I felt this internal fear. HBP runs in my family and it doesn’t matter how thin I am or how much sleep I get or how much exercise I do, I am still in the target zone sometimes. So on that day I started reaching for all my oils that are known to support the heart and the whole cardiovascular system. These oils include Ylang Ylang, Marjoram and Lemon, Copaiba ( ! ), Petitgrain, Helichrysum, Clove, Basil, Balance blend, Lavender, Eucalyptus, and Clary Sage. I gathered my Ylang Ylang, Copaiba, and Balance and started rubbing them on the bottom of my feet, over my chest, on the back of my knees, ( this is a great spot to apply E.O.’s because the pores are big there and the oils absorb very quickly into your system, just like the arch of your feet ) on my wrists and on the back of my neck. I wasn’t taking this lightly and I was determined that more was better in this case. The funny thing was, at about 7pm that night as I was lying on my sofa, it occurred to me that if this was my heart having issues it would have probably exploded on Cowles mountain during the previous nights hike. So what the heck… what had happened to make me feel so bad for the entire afternoon?? Ahhh…. lunch at my favorite quick-serving restaurant. I ordered an ice tea, which I never hardly do anymore because water is free, but I did that day. As the waitress brought it to me I noticed it was dark in color but it tasted fine so I drank it down. And about 1/2 hour later BAM, crazy heart palpitations. Anyway, it’s the caffeine that does this to me so no more for me in the future. I’m just glad I had my oils because they did relax me and I smelled good, lol. Lesson learned!
Have a great day! Jana
