Yesterday we talked about how to improve your sleep and calm sweet cravings after you take a break from drinking alcohol and today I wanted to continue and talk about two more topics that I get a lot of questions about. The first one is what do you do to replace the ‘habit’ of grabbing that glass of wine or other beverage at 5 o’clock? ( or whatever time of the day it was for you ) This was something I was worried about in the beginning of my journey because it became such a crutch for me to have that glass nearby. I really struggled with what to replace it with until I started shopping for alternatives. It turns out, local beverage stores have a pretty good supply of non-alcoholic choices, and so do on-line stores. Two of my favorites are Lagunita’s Hoppy Refresher, ( our Lime oil makes a great addition to this, BTW ) and GRUVI’s Prosecco. These both taste great and can replace those cravings without having you feeling deprived. Look both of these up and let me know if you want a more detailed list of other NA options… I’ve got a ton! ~ The other thing I’ll share is the issue a lot of people have about taking their mind off of drinking at the ‘witching hour.’ This is a common problem and I found myself using that time to go outside and exercise if I was able to. Since it stayed light out until 8pm when I first started on my AF journey last year, I chose to hike up my local mountain whenever I could. And to support my stamina & energy, I took two of doTERRA’s Mito2Max supplements as a back up for natural energy. And as time went on, I found it easier and easier to live my life without the intake of my wine habit. If you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to contact me at any time. I’m happy to share and am pretty much an open book, as you can see!
Have a great day! Jana
