No, this is not a new essential oil that doTERRA has come out with, it’s Patchouli oil and Pogostemon Cablin is the name of the plant. Patchouli oil has become a favorite for a friend of mine and the way she uses it for her skin is the topic of my blog today. Michelle likes to use this oil as an added ingredient to her facial moisturizer because the effects it has on her skin have become noticeable to even her friends. Michelle had heard about what it could do for the skin so she did a little research and found out that people have been using this oil on their skin for hundreds of years. ( I wrote a blog about this a few years ago ) Anyway, not only does is help smooth the skin, Patchouli oil also has Patchoulol in it, a highly grounding chemical component that can ease emotions. So, when you mix the oil into your moisturizer and apply it to your skin, you are getting much more than just one benefit, you’re getting several! Skin conditioning mixed with emotional support, who doesn’t love this? ~ Another great use for our Patchouli oil is to mix it with Vetiver essential oil and apply it to the bottoms of the feet. Try mixing 2 drops of each oil and massage this gently over the entire area of the feet. This will help to calm emotions when you’ve had a long day or are feeling frazzled. ~ There are many other ways that you can use Patchouli essential oil, including for the annoying itch you may get after a bug bite; if you are trying to curb your appetite, Patchouli can help; and it’s great to use for any hair and scalp targets that you may want to address. And lastly, you can use this oil as a simple daily perfume.
Have a great day! Jana
