About two years ago I wrote about making your own eyelash booster by using doTERRA oils. Back then the post got a lot of attention because people were buying and using some of the products that were available but they were expensive and didn’t give full ingredient disclosures. When I wrote about my own experience using Fractionated Coconut oil, plus Lavender and Lemon essential oils, I was rubbing the oils over my eyelashes at night before bed using a roller ball bottle as my application system. I was pretty happy with the results but as time went on I stopped using this recipe regularly because I was happy with my lashes. Flash forward to now… since 2017 there has been another boost in interest in lash growth and many companies are pushing out more expensive products to choose from. Since I have been active in sharing natural solutions on this blog, a reader wrote in to tell me her own recipe for a lash-growth-enhancer using our oils and I wanted to share. ~ Carrie told me that she has been mixing doTERRA’s Cedarwood, Rosemary, and Lavender oils, along with FCO, in a new, empty mascara tube and brushing it on her eyelashes every night before bedtime. All three of these oils are good for supporting hair growth and cleaning out hair follicles. A lot of people use these oils in their shampoo or conditioner so Carrie thought using them on her lashes would be a good idea. Turns out, she was right… her lashes grew stronger and thicker after about a month of using them nightly. ~ You can get the empty mascara bottles online or in most beauty supply stores, and then you add in 3 to 4 drops of each of the recommended oils: Cedarwood, Rosemary, and Lavender, then filling the bottle the rest of the way with the FCO. This has been working for many people so give it a try if you’re looking for a more natural way to go!
Have a great day! Jana
