I am pretty much the lowest maintenance gal on the planet when it comes to beauty and makeup regimens, so when a friend of mine told me I should look into this new thing called microblading for my eyebrows, I took a look. What I found seemed interesting enough… it’s basically tattooing fine lines on your skin above the eyes to replace the actual hairs that are our eyebrows. My eyebrows are boring and not tweezed properly because I’ve never really cared that much. But for some reason this interested me so I made an appointment with a local esthetician for a consult. When I got there she handed me a stack of pages that I had to fill out and read completely. After doing this I knew this pricey procedure wasn’t for me but I went into her office to talk anyway. When you get this procedure done you can’t let your eyebrows get wet for about two weeks except to wash lightly once a day. Well, this would be impossible for me because I exercise and sweat almost every day. When I hike it’s the worst because rivers of sweat form over my eyebrows and I’m constantly wiping them with my fingers. I told the lady this and she just looked at me blankly and said, ‘ can’t you go a few weeks without exercising?’ It dawned on me right then that she was witnessing the loss of some big bucks and she was having a hard time letting go. Anyway, I left and came home and looked in the mirror and thought to myself, I’m doing just fine by being low-maintenance me. ~ If you are a person who has a tattoo, new or old, doTERRA has some oils that can be useful for aftercare and maintenance.
