Last night my son was cooking me dinner and during the process he burned his hand pretty badly on a hot pan. I immediately got the three essential oils that I knew would help to soothe and calm his skin, feeling very grateful that I had them all in reach. The three I used were Lavender and Helichrysum for the burn itself, and Copaiba to ease the discomfort that always comes with a burn to the skin. I actually didn’t have to do anything for him though because he knew just what to do. doTERRA’s oils and products have been a part of his life for the past eight years and he uses them on his own for all kinds of things. We actually don’t have any other remedies in our home right now because these pure oils and products take the place of almost everything we could need. I love knowing that we are covered in any type of situation, just like the burn from last night. ~ Some of the other oils in doTERRA’s collection that are good for the skin are: Melaleuca, Geranium, the Deep Blue blend, Frankincense, Myrrh, our Immortelle blend, Ylang Ylang, and Petitgrain. You can dilute any of these oils with a carrier oil, like our Fractionated Coconut oil, or even just extra virgin olive oil, if you have sensitive skin or just want to err on the side of caution. I always tell people who are new to using essential oils to wade in slowly, don’t rush in… there is a lot to learn but it’s so worth the journey! ~ Another quick tip I want to share is one I’ve written about before but it’s a good one to review. When you apply Peppermint essential oil to the entire bottoms of your feet before you put on your shoes and socks to go workout, this will help to keep your feet cool and the skin from dimpling up afterwards. It’s a great tip and it’s so refreshing for the skin!
