Tea Tree Essential oil is very well known and some of you may know it as it’s other name, Melaleuca. I talk about this oil all the time because it has so many beneficial uses and it is sometimes referred to as the ‘Tireless’ essential oil. Tireless is right… I have three open bottles placed throughout my house because we use it for so many different things. And one of the latest things will be sure to coax a laugh out of you when I explain what happened recently. ~ During my time off I hiked a new location where part of the trails wound through overgrown brush. I didn’t think much about it until the evening time when bumps rose up on my legs in about twenty places. Along with that comes the itching so Tea Tree oil was the first oil I reached for. ( some of the other oils that work well for this are Lavender, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, and our Purify blend ) After applying the oil topically on the areas of concern, everything was soothed over, until I took a shower and went to shave my legs. Oh my gosh… if this has ever happened to you, you know exactly what I’m talking about as far as reigniting the itch. Ripping off the tops of the newly scabbed over skin is not the most pleasant thing to experience, but not shaving was not an option either. But never fear, I figured out a combo of doTERRA’s oils that work well to soothe and calm this target as soon as the skin is dried off. Just apply our Helichrysum oil on the bumps, let it absorb into the skin, and then put the Tea Tree oil over it. This will support taking away the discomfort, plus it is so beneficial in getting the skin back to normal. I hope this helps if you ever find yourself in a situation like this!
Have a great day! Jana
