Yesterday I talked about one of our new essential oils, Davana, and I raved about the scent of it. It’s a good one, that’s for sure, but today let’s talk about another new, LTO, essential oil that doTERRA has unveiled, Tulsi Holy Basil oil. This oil has a pungent, sweet, clove-like, somewhat bitter green herbaceous aroma with a soft balsamic-woody undertone. ( and yes, I had help with that description! ) When you take the cap off the bottle you don’t even need to hold the bottle right up to your nose to get the full effect of this scent… it’s strong, but not in a negative way. And this is another oil that I’m already hooked on because the scent is so unusual yet it has one of the most pleasing aromas I’ve ever encountered. ~ The Tulsi plant comes from India and is considered to be a sacred plant there. People use it in all kinds of meditation and religious practices by diffusing it in the air and using it topically with dilution on pulse points and over the heart. A lot of people use this oil to support their emotional balance and moods, and it can be used to relax or energize, depending on what your body is calling for. I read a review that a woman wrote that said she diffuses only 2 drops of Tulsi oil in her water diffuser before bed and it has supported a good nights rest, plus her room smells amazing in the morning when she wakes up. ~ Because this oil is so potent, a little goes a long way. If you need to add some to a massage cream to work into sore muscles or joints, one drop will do the trick. And another way that this oil comes in handy is for several respiratory targets by just inhaling the oil from the bottle. It’s a great oil and I highly recommend people adding it to their collection!
Have a great day! Jana
