Essential oils can bring so much goodness to our lives but you do need to be aware of their strength and potency before using them in a topical manner. Every person is different and there may be some people who aren’t sensitive to oils at all, while another person might have a huge sensitivity issue. Most people know if they need to dilute a product or buy one manufactured for sensitive skin, but when it comes to doTERRA’s oils there are five oils that we always recommend to dilute no matter what. Those five oils are: Cinnamon, Clove, Oregano, Thyme, and Cassia. These are also known as ‘hot’ oils and can be safely diluted with a carrier oil like our Fractionated Coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, or a vegetable oil. Most people have these in their kitchen so use what’s available. A few of the ways to dilute the oils are to put one drop of essential oil in the palm of your hand and the same amount of the carrier oil added in. Apply to the area needed and rub in gently. You can also get a roller ball bottle and put up to 15 drops of the essential oil in the bottle, then filling the rest of the bottle up with the carrier oil. This is a great way to carry an oil with you while having easy access to the oil anytime you need it. And another way is to put the ‘hot’ oil, a drop, in a dollop of your hand or body cream and using where you want it. ~ Before using an essential oil you should always make sure about the purity of it. Just because a label says it is ‘100% Pure’, doesn’t mean it actually is. That’s why you should contact me and allow me to share the benefits and details about doTERRA’s oils and products. I’m here to help and will look forward to talking with you!
Have a great day! Jana
